About iNotarize
A remote online notarization platform built for signers and notaries
Our mission
Making professional notarization accessible from anywhere
The basics
What is remote online notarization?
Remote online notarization (RON) lets a signer appear before a commissioned electronic notary over a secure audio/video connection instead of in person. The signer's identity is verified, the document is signed electronically, and the notary completes the notarial act with an electronic signature and seal.
Electronic notarization is a broader term for notarizing electronic documents; RON specifically means the signer and notary are in different locations. Rules vary by state, and not every document or transaction can be notarized remotely.
