What to prepare

What identification is needed
An unexpired government photo ID is required for each signer. If a signer needs accommodations, tell us during intake so the session can be planned appropriately.
What happens during the process

- The session takes place online with the notary and any witnesses.

What to know before you submit
- Wills and testamentary documents have special rules. Do not assume an online notarization satisfies them.
- Notaries cannot advise you on estate planning or the legal effect of any document.
- Confirm with your attorney or the receiving institution whether an electronic record is acceptable.
